Aminogam® Gingival Gel - Aminogam

Aminogam® Gingival Gel

Adjuvant in the regeneration processes of the oral mucosa

Significantly stimulates rapid wound healing in oral lesions 5

ACCELERATES HEALING PROCESS2

HaCat keratinocyte monolayer was scratched and wound closure was assessed at time 0, 6 and 12 in the presence of 1% Aminogam® Gingival Gel or in untreated cultures.
Migration was estimated at three sites for each well.

Aminogam® Gingival Gel-treated cells had higher rates of wound closure than untreated keratinocytes.

AMINOGAM® GINGIVAL GEL IN SURGICAL PROCEDURES4

Aim:
To evaluate the outcomes of 266 BRONJ lesions in patients after surgical management guided by a new dimensional stage classification.

Results:
the intracavitary intraoperative gel filling (Aminogam® Gingival Gel), followed by application of the same device upon the stitches, is effective in accelerating soft and hard tissues healing, especially in minor defects.

AMINOGAM® GINGIVAL GEL can improve:

RAPIDLY REDUCES PAIN AND INFLAMMATION4

New dimensional staging of bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ) favouring a guided surgical treatment protocol: long-term follow-up of 266 lesions in patients being treated at the University of Bari4.

Aminogam® Gingival Gel was applied to intracavitary post-operative wounds of 203 patients. Patients were additionally instructed to apply Aminogam® Gingival Gel to the sutured wound at least 3 times daily until the removal of sutures.

Conclusion:
Post-operative application of Aminogam® Gingival Gel proven to accelerate wound and mucosal healing time, thereby reducing time between surgical procedure and suture removal.

Aminogam® Gingival Gel was demonstrated to be an inexpensive, biocompatible and safe medical device to use in all surgical procedures in order to achieve faster healing of both hard and soft tissues, without infective complications, due to mechanical protection of the wound4.

OPEN HEALING5
Open healing is a ridge augmentation procedure using a resorbable collagen membrane that is deliberately keeping the wound open. “Open healing” represents an alternative for a better bone preservation and new bone formation and creates an increased patient comfort in everyday practice.

Open healing is really innovative, introducing a low morbidity and minimally invasive procedure.
«However, the need to implement and stimulate the healing of soft tissues, healing as secondary aim, above the exposed membrane, was created.
For this reason, I thought about the application of Aminogam® Gingival Gel, because of its regenerative and rapid wound properties. Since the protocol was published, the procedure has been accepted by the entire international scientific community.»
– Prof. Cardaropoli – Torino (Italy)

Using the open healing technique:

  • Sockets width are preserved
  • Bone height to the level of the adjacent tooth is gained
  • Intra-op and post-op comfort of the patient are high

The protocol involved the insertion of a biomaterial inside a post-extraction alveolus and its protection with a resorbable membrane of collagen, left exposed in the oral cavity.
The classical procedure has always provided for the coverage of the biomaterial with a gingival graft taken from the palate (socket seal) or with the incision of a coronal sliding flap.

Efficacious and well-tolerated

  • It can be applied directly and will adhere to the wound / socket.
  • IT has a direct osteo-inductive effect with a faster osteo-generation time.
  • it facilitates rapid regeneration of oral tissue and maintenance of the ideal moist conditions to promote re-epithelialisation of the affected area.
  • it provides a protective action, promoting fast healing of ulcerative and erosive lesions, and oral wounds.

It has been demonstrated that the gel formulation of
AMINOGAM® GINGIVAL GEL decreases:

postoperative pain
swelling
infective complications after surgery

AMINOGAM® GINGIVAL GEL

Is biocompatible, safe and useful in all surgical procedures in order
to obtain a faster healing of oral hard and soft tissues, especially in BRONJ (Bisphosphonate-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw) that are often prone to difficult, slow and complicated recovery.

DOSAGE AND METHOD OF USE

Surgical appliance

  • Apply on the wound a layer of gel with a sterile spatula.
  • Alternatively, draw up the gel with syringe and apply to the wound.

Orthodontic appliance

Apply a layer of gel on the damaged mucosa.

Massage with a finger in order to facilitate spreading of the product over the treated area.

Repeat after each main meal, after standard oral hygiene (3 or 4 times a day).
